We’re excited to announce that our team won the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI) Regional Contractor of the Year Award for this beautiful exterior remodel! Out of 435 entries across multiple categories and regions, our West Linn Exterior Renovation project was selected as the best Residential Exterior over $200,000 in the Northwest region. In such a competitive field, this award is a huge testament to the hard work and dedication of our craftspeople, all of whom had a big hand in this remodel.
Needless to say, we’re thrilled to earn this recognition from NARI Pacific Northwest and NARI National. Especially for this project, which demonstrates the value of matching a home with its surroundings, down to the smallest details.
About the Winning Project
Warmth and integration with its natural surroundings were top of mind in this Portland renovation. Years’ worth of past owner-applied fixes and poor remodel jobs couldn’t withstand the wet Oregon winters, leaving the exterior of the home in a rotted state. The first task of the remodel was to deconstruct the exterior envelope and repair any and all dry rot damage. With this fresh, water-tight start, we re-sided and re-roofed the entire home and made some alterations to the outside living spaces. The open air carport was converted into a fully functioning enclosed garage, and the front entryway was completely redesigned to include a new porch and second story balcony off the primary bedroom. We also re-built the back deck and added some design elements to help with both safety and ambiance.
Details of this project include the use of raw, cedar shingles for siding, a lifetime snap-lock metal roof, tongue and groove clear stained cedar soffits, LED strip lighting at the stairs and benches, and the seamless blend of scribed wood decking to fit perfectly against the stone chimney.

The judging panel consisted of industry experts who selected winners based on problem solving, functionality, aesthetics, craftsmanship, innovation, and degree of difficulty.
The CotY Awards allow us to celebrate contractors who are committed to design, best practices, integrity, high standards, and professionalism. NARI will honor all Regional Winners and announce the National Winners at the NARI 2021 CotY Awards Presentation on April 30, 2021.
